Roll Together Foundation Empowers Girls Through Tabletop Gaming
[Windermere, Fl, 8/1/2023] – The Roll Together Foundation proudly announces its commitment to fostering community engagement and youth development through a passion for tabletop gaming. Founded in 2022, the organization is dedicated to the task of providing new opportunities for individuals to create, design, and play tabletop games while making a positive impact on those in need.
At the heart of the Roll Together Foundation's mission lies a belief in the power of tabletop gaming to nurture valuable life skills and encourage social and emotional development among children and young adults. As President and Co-founder, Jordan Dieppa-Tamajon, states, ""Our foundation was established with the objective of enriching the community by promoting the widespread appreciation for tabletop gaming. Research consistently notes the significance and efficacy of play in human development. Tabletop games can serve as a catalyst for fostering critical thinking abilities, nurturing leadership qualities, facilitating cooperative play, and nurturing empathy, fostering more well-rounded individuals and a vibrant community."
The foundation’s current campaign has allied itself with Girls Inc. in Sarasota, Florida, exemplifying its dedication to inclusivity and gender diversity. Collaborating with Girls Inc., Roll Together is determined to successfully establish a board game library for their entire program, complemented by a tabletop RPG library in their teen room, a recent donation by Shari Ashman, grandmother to Roll Together’s founder. To emphasize the importance of gender equality in the hobby, the foundation plans to assign female game masters to teach the girls how to play, breaking stereotypes and empowering young women to embrace their passions.
Roll Together’s Treasurer, Carlos Tamajon, emphasizes the organization's vision, saying, "Our commitment goes beyond merely introducing games; it is about creating opportunities for children who face economic hardships to experience the joy and benefits of tabletop gaming. We firmly believe that every child deserves access to this enriching hobby."
To expand our philanthropic efforts and organize community fundraising events, the Roll Together Foundation is reaching out to the generous support of community members. These contributions will play a pivotal role in procuring board games, tabletop RPG books, dice, accessories, and storage solutions for Girls Inc., ensuring a sustainable and impactful initiative that will positively impact the lives of young individuals. The donations will be instrumental in bringing joy and valuable life skills to those in need, fostering a love for tabletop gaming that resonates deeply within our community. Roll Together has currently partnered with The Crafty Gamer, local hobby and candle shop hybrid in Winter Park, along with tabletop convention Quest Con + Crucible Orlando.
