Golden Dice Microgrant

How much is each microgrant?

Each Microgrant will be $1000 dollars, to be used for game design. This includes, but is not limited to, purchase of materials, promotional art/materials, prototyping, kickstarter funds, etc. All grant recipients must keep their invoice and receipts for items purchased.

Who is eligible?

Those who are considered BILPOC. BILPOC is defined by Health Communities Foundation as "Black, Indigenous, Latinx and/or any People of Color.” This microgrant will be utilized for persons who are a part of marginalized communities. 

Female+ is an LGBTQ terminology which includes: assigned female at birth, female transgender, nonbinary, and gender fluid individuals.

This is a national grant only. At this time, international applicants are not eligible.

Game designers for board games, card games, party games, and tabletop RPG games are eligible to apply.

Applicants will be asked to submit their name, preferred contact information, a headshot (optional), a breakdown of what the funds would be used for, and any social media accounts.

When are applications due and what is needed?

Applications for Golden Dice Microgrant are due March 14, 2025. 

When applying, applicants will need to submit their “elevator pitch” to give the voting committee an understanding of what the game entails. Application will also include what material the grant will help pay for. 

How are grant winners determined?

Grant applications will be voted on by a committee of industry professionals who are either artists, designers, or writers who are aware of what would be considered viable in the industry.

How are grant winners notified?

Grant applicants will only be notified if they are receiving the grant at the end of June, 2025. If you are not contacted by the end of June, you were not chosen to receive a microgrant. But please feel free to reapply next year. Winners will be notified via email. Please note that recipients have 3 weeks to return receipt, as mentorship will be offered through the process. 

Winners will also be given a free community or demo table at QuestCon Orlando in order to continue to crowdfund and market their game.
